Ruben Amorim could unleash Manchester United's £55m signing with simple lifeline
Footage of Ruben Amorim introducing himself to Manchester United's players at Carrington has been released and the new head coach exuded warmth as he met some of the squad.
Most of the players have reported for international duty but some have not been called up and are recovering from injury, which explains why they're at Carrington this week.
They are set to be given a few days off - that is standard for the international break - but it was important they got an opportunity to meet Amorim before they enjoyed a rest.
Amorim was overheard saying "guys, we have to have fun," in one conversation and looked incredibly personable as he embraced players, while he also made sure to introduce himself to a handful of youngsters from the academy who were stretching with foam rollers.

Amorim is an outstanding communicator and speaks fluent English. His personality shone through in the footage and he seems guaranteed to become a hit within the dressing room.
A new coach must get his squad to buy into his philosophy and vision, and Amorim's former players have spoken about the effort he makes to create genuine personal relationships.
Amorim seems like an exceptional people manager and the club media cameras picked up his exchange with Mason Mount, who recently returned from another injury setback.
Mount embraced Amorim and the pair shared a few brief words with smiles on their faces. There has been a conversation among fans about which players will benefit the most from the 39-year-old's arrival from Sporting Lisbon and Mount has the potential to be among the big winners.
The midfielder, who signed for an initial £55million from Chelsea in 2023, made just five starts in the Premier League in his first season, which was blighted by a few injury concerns.
There were some reports in the summer that United could look to offload Mount, but a source rejected those claims and insisted he had backing from key figures inside the club to become the important member of the squad they envisaged he would become in 2024/25.
It's understood there were staff who believed Mount essentially had a false start due to injury and thought this campaign would be the opportunity for him to show why he was signed.
Mount's pressing ability was relied upon by Erik ten Hag in the opening fixtures of the season and he was a key cog in the team's tweaked pressing structure in attack. He was making strides to vindicate his transfer but suffered another injury setback when picking up a muscle issue.
Fans have questioned Mount's robustness and availability is the best ability, although the caveat is United suffered an unprecedented number of injuries - including a worrying amount of muscle issues - last term and the medical department has been overhauled by Ineos.
With new medical staff in place and a new head coach in charge, which means a different training load and methods, there is hope Mount's injury problems will be put behind him.
Mount now has an opportunity to kick on and show his best form under a new exciting coach, who is known to favour players who can deliver intensity. Mount ticks that box and will be relishing the chance for a clean slate when Premier League football resumes after the break.
He possesses the qualities that will help him excel in Amorim's tactical system and fans should afford him the rest of the campaign to prove he can have a future at Old Trafford.
Some fans have been frustrated with Mount due to his injuries but others are encouraged he could thrive under Amorim, so hopefully the latter camp are proven right in time.
