Ruben Amorim fearing Man United sack as Newcastle United aim to worsen Old Trafford problems
Ruben Amorim took charge of his first Manchester United game on November 24th. Less than five weeks later, he is fearing the possible repercussions for five losses in his opening 10 clashes.
Thursday's bruising 2-0 defeat away at Wolverhampton Wanderers has added to the Portuguese coach's problems, with his definitive style of play failing to work thus far. The final game of a bruising 2024 for the Red Devils sees them host an in-form Newcastle United who have re-found their confidence in recent weeks.
An away win for Eddie Howe's side won't only bolster their Champions League ambitions but also add even more pressure onto the boss of a near rival. "The manager of Manchester United can never, no matter what, be comfortable," said Amorim after a Boxing Day defeat to Wolves.

"You can argue I have been here one month and I've had four training [sessions], but we are not winning. That is the reality.
"I know that if we don't win, regardless if they pay the buyout or not, every manager is in danger. I like that because that is the job."
Newcastle have won just the one Premier League game at the 'Theatre of Dreams' but will arrive for the showdown on the back of four successive victories in recent weeks. Thursday's 3-0 drubbing of Aston Villa at St James' Park lifted the Magpies up to fifth in the league, with Howe hopeful of a repeat showing to end the calendar year.
"Every time you play is an opportunity," Howe said when asked about Newcastle's record at Manchester United. "You never know what will happen.
"It is a blank canvas. What can we achieve in this game. It will be down to our attitude firstly.
"It is a fixture we should try to attack and keep our rhythm and be the best version of ourselves. We will try to grab it if we can."
