Ruben Amorim fires subtle Tottenham dig at Ange Postecoglou in brutal Man Utd comparison
Ruben Amorim has aimed a subtle dig at Ange Postecoglou after comparing Manchester United's situation to that of Tottenham. United - like Spurs - have endured a terrible Premier League season.
Amorim's side sit 13th in the Premier League table after winning just eight of their 24 matches. They sit one place and one point above Tottenham, having won the same amount of games.
While Amorim is expected to be handed time to turn United's fortunes around after replacing Erik ten Hag as their new permanent head coach in November, Postecoglou is under pressure following Spurs' drab run of form. The Aussie has seen the Lilywhites dumped out of the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup this month.

It's not looking positive for Postecoglou, and although Amorim claimed he is a 'huge fan of his', he couldn't help but fire a cheeky remark at the former Celtic boss ahead of his side's trip to Tottenham.
"I'm a huge fan of his," said Amorim. "I'm from a different culture, I'm Portuguese and the Portuguese coaches can adapt. I use one system in the moment, because I believe if you work on that system we adapt that at the same time, but we are not winning games.
"So I can understand the connection between me and Ange. We have the same problems but, with all due respect, I'm in a bigger club with bigger pressure, but I think it's important to follow all of these principles.
"He's a good guy, a very good coach, he wants to play football in the right way and that is a very good thing. We know when we choose this kind of profession it's a good thing but then you have to feel that pressure when you don't win."
Amorim confirmed that United are nursing a couple of injuries going into the trip to north London. "No, was a good week until two days ago," Amorim said. "We had some problems also. So we don’t have players back, maybe we have one or two issues but we are waiting.
"We have one player also who is sick so we will see the team at the weekend. But was good to work with the team, to feel the players and to try to improve our performance."
