Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim's belief in his players was evident as new footage emerged prior to the penalty shootout victory over Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.

United gave a brilliant account of themselves against the Gunners particularly after going a man down and pegged back to 1-1 on the hour mark. The ascendency appeared to be with the hosts but resolute defending kept the Reds firmly in the cup tie.

Eventually, the match would be taken to a penalty shootout allowing both Amorim and Mikel Arteta one final moment to give instructions to their squad and potentially choose the order of takers. In footage released on social media of the United huddle before the shootout, Amorim can be seen passing instructions on to his players as they gathered around, listening intently.

However, halfway through the clip, Amorim can be spotted walking away from the huddle and heading back to the bench as the United players continue to confer between themselves.

It was clearly a noticeable change from how managers tend to approach these scenarios with their desire often being to use every single second afforded to them.

This trust from Amorim issued to his players did the trick as United went on to score all of their five penalties with Altay Bayindir saving Kai Havertz's spot kick in the shootout. The result ensured the Reds' passage to the fourth round of the competition with Leicester City awaiting them in the next stage of the FA Cup.
