Manchester United's hopes of signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani could receive a huge green light if Ruben Amorim sanctions the exit of Marcus Rashford.

Kolo Muani has emerged as a potential reinforcement in attack this month with a potential loan deal explored. Amorim is understood to be keen on bolstering his options in attack due to the poor form of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Reports on Tuesday suggested a move for Kolo Muani was not dependent on player sales in January. A number of players are being linked with leaving the club before February with Casemiro, Rashford, Antony and Zirkzee all available.

Rashford is the big one for United with his monstrous wages deficit off the wage bill being viewed as great business. Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Juventus are all said to be keen on the forward but no deal looks to be close.

In a fresh twist, The Daily Mail have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have now entered the race for Rashford. The north Londoners are understood to be hopeful of a loan move but any move would hinge on the details of how his wage would be split and fee included if an obligation to buy is inserted.

Spurs' interest in Rashford could place United in pole position to land Kolo Munai. Their interest in the France international was first reported alongside Tottenham with Ange Postecoglou desperate for more firepower in his own squad.

The signing of Rashford would open the door for United to agree a deal for PSG with little competition. While it's unclear whether Spurs can afford the English attacker, there is competition for his signature. If the recruitment drive worked smartly, United could make the most of the opportunity to bring Kolo Muani to the Premier League under their league rivals' nose.
