Ruben Amorim and Sir Alex Ferguson have something in common - despite bad Manchester United results
"We are not defeated in Fergie time, we are defeated in offside time," said Ruud van Nistelrooy after Manchester United claimed a dramatic late victory against Leicester in the FA Cup.
Van Nistelrooy was not pleased when he spoke after Friday's night game because VAR was not available in the FA Cup fourth round and Harry Maguire's matchwinner was offside.
Ruben Amorim conceded Maguire's goal was offside in his post-match press conference, but decisions have gone against United and Amorim wouldn't have minded a stroke of luck.

United have scored dozens of memorable late goals across the years and 'Fergie time' did come into the mind of opponents, which Ferguson discussed himself in 2012. "You dispel it as popular myth of teams that are jealous of Manchester United's success," Ferguson told the BBC.
"I think it would be too easy to just say it's rubbish. When you analyse and think psychologically what happens, the pressure that's on you at Old Trafford or the Emirates or Stamford Bridge, the pressure that is implied upon you must have an effect, even if subconsciously."
Sadly, the fear factor that Old Trafford possessed has diminished since Ferguson's retirement and teams no longer visit Manchester with trepidation - they sense an opportunity instead.
This season's defeats at home to Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Crystal Palace have not shocked and fans have become accustomed to 'smaller clubs' winning in M16.
Amorim hasn't inspired a turnaround in fortunes as was hoped since his appointment from Sporting Lisbon and positives have been hard to come by, although there has been one small silver lining in the last few months: United haven't given up in the final moments of games and late goals have been scored.
There have been six late goals scored since Amorim took over and five of those were matchwinners, so the picture for United this season would look even worse without them.
The run of late goals scored under Amorim started on December 12 against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League when Rasmus Hojlund scored in the 88th minute to complete a 2-1 comeback.
The next late goal was against Manchester City - who could forget - when Amad brilliantly latched onto Lisandro Martinez's pass and slotted home to seal an unlikely Manchester derby victory.
Then, Amad was single-handedly responsible for the dramatic turnaround against Southampton, scoring a stunning hat-trick in the space of 10 minutes to come back from 1-0 down.
There was more drama against Rangers in the Europa League when Bruno Fernandes popped up at the death, and Maguire's goal against Leicester made it six late goals under Amorim.
United have gone from scoring at the start of games when Amorim initially took over, to scoring late goals, although the former would be preferable, given the first goal of a game is always the most important.
United's late goals under Amorim:
88' minute winner vs Viktoria Plzen
90' minute winner vs City
90' & 94' minute goals vs Southampton
92' minute winner vs Rangers
93' minute winner vs Leicester
So much has been lost at United since Ferguson left the club. At times, United have been unrecognisable and new lows seem to be topped every few years, but it's heartening that the 'neve-say-die-attitude' remains intact, to some extent, even amongst a poor set of players.
Having said that, although late goals produce euphoric moments in the stands, fans would rather United put the opposition to the sword and have the game wrapped up before that stage.
The mentality in United's dressing room needs to be improved, but there are some fighters in there.
