Ruben Selles delivers crucial transfer window verdict after Hull City's busy month
Hull City head coach Ruben Selles says he's happy with the work done by the club in the winter transfer window, after the Tigers signed eight players and moved out a host of fringe performers.
One of Selles' key demands, when he joined the club in December, was moving out some players he didn't feel would be part of his journey and adding front players to give the squad a greater threat in the top half of the pitch.
Matt Crooks started the flurry of arrivals last month and was joined by Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt and Nordin Amrabat before Kyle Joseph, Lincoln, Eliot Matazo, and Louie Barry followed in through the door, while experienced defender John Egan was the sole arrival on deadline day.

After months of talks, City finally sanctioned Ryan Giles' return to Middlesbrough, while Ryan Longman, Will Jarvis, Marvin Mehlem, Anthony Racioppi and Chris Bedia all left the club, while Andy Smith and Xavier Simons were late departures on loan.
Though the Tigers have missed out on a couple of key targets, primarily in the left-back area and saw Carl Rushworth recalled by Brighton, their work has largely been solid, even they were unable to sign the left-back he wanted.
City's squad is much, much stronger than it was when they hosted Middlesbrough on New Year's Day, and that's always the key barometer for assessing the strength of a window, and it's left Selles pleased with the work done in Jared Dublin's first as sporting director.
"Absolutely, yes," Selles told Hull Live when asked if he was happy with the club's business. "When we talked with the club when we joined the club, we knew the kind of players and the characters that we wanted to bring into the building, and I think the club has been working really hard to support our idea.
"We talked about front players, and that's what we have been mainly focused on, so I think we are in a good position, and now it's my responsibility to get this group of players performing as a team."
