Ruben Selles: Reading doing an 'extraordinary job' under Noel Hunt
Former Reading boss Ruben Selles has labelled the job done by his successor, Noel Hunt, as 'extraordinary.'
The Spaniard departed to join Championship strugglers Hull City last month, leaving supporters devastated after building a strong rapport in difficult off-field circumstances.
However, the Royals continue to defy the doubters and push for promotion, sitting sixth at the halfway stage of the campaign.
Meanwhile, the Tigers remain in the relegation zone in the second tier and were dumped out of the FA Cup by League Two Doncaster Rovers.
Speaking on the Not Top 20 podcast, Selles was asked about his time at Reading and the job done by Hunt, who was close to Selles and often travelled with the coaching staff to away matches.
"I am very happy and proud of my time at Reading- my feelings about the club will never change. It was one of the most challenging times of my life and for the club. We learnt how to cope together, with the fans, and the feeling was extraordinary. I found myself as a manager in that environment and I will always be thankful for that. There are moments in life where you need to make decisions, and I saw that as a moment to make a change.
"They are in good hands with Noel, and they are continuing to do an extraordinary job. I hope the situation with the club is sorted soon so it has many many years in front with big success."
