Ruud van Nistelrooy has given Leicester City green light for Man United January transfer raid
Ruud van Nistelrooy left Manchester United with plenty of goodwill behind him after a successful stint as interim manager.
The Reds' iconic former striker managed to steady the ship at Old Trafford with three wins and a draw in all competitions before passing the keys over to Ruben Amorim. Unsurprisingly after masterminding a return to form at United, Van Nistelrooy was headhunted across Europe.
Eventually, he chose to restart his managerial career at struggling Leicester City with the objective of avoiding being sucked into a relegation battle at the foot of the table. To do this, Van Nistelrooy will likely be looking to add some fresh faces to the East Midlands club.

Explaining this prospect in his first press conference, Van Nistelrooy said: "That was a topic of discussion. The two conversations were very open and clear.
"It’s important to know how things are in the near future and the further future. January was discussed and the current squad was discussed.
"I have to have a good assessment over the coming weeks ahead of January, giving every player a chance. I’m working with people at the club but I’m looking to bring in other people."
What better way to bring in new players quickly than by exploiting his current relationship with United? Ruben Amorim praised Van Nistelrooy for his work on boosting Amad's confidence so you can't see him rejecting the Foxes if they want to bring in some of United's fringe players for the remainder of the campaign - and as Van Nistelrooy himself admits, he will look to bring in new faces.
Players like Toby Collyer, Harry Amass and Dan Gore would all benefit from experience in the Premier League and could shine too. Antony is being pushed into a back-up role at Old Trafford and could well be a benefit to a Leicester side who would give him chances to play.
Or even a sale of Victor Lindelof for a minimal fee in January could be a prospect for Van Nistelrooy as he looks to bolster his defence. There are several options available at United that the Dutchman may wish to approach that would benefit both parties.
Suddenly, United's transfer window next month could be busier than expected.
