Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed that James Justin will be assessed on Sunday after being forced off in the first half against Arsenal on Saturday.

The Foxes defended well for 80 minutes but fell to their 16th defeat of the season courtesy of two Mikel Merino goals in the 81st and 87th minute. It leaves them two points behind Wolves in 17th with Vitor Pereira's men in action on Sunday at Liverpool.

Justin initially went down in the 24th minute and received medical attention after landing awkwardly on his right foot. He continued to play before going down once again in the latter stages of the first half.

He was replaced by Woyo Coulibaly, who was making his home debut for the club, in the 43rd minute but opted to stay on the bench rather than head straight down the tunnel.

Later on, TV cameras showed the right-back taking his seat on the bench in a club tracksuit wearing a protective boot on his right foot. After the loss, van Nistelrooy was asked about the immediate assessment of the defender's injury.

"Of course, it's a first assessment," he said. "We have to wait and see tomorrow, the reaction. We had to take him off in the 42nd minute, it's a moment where you don't want to make a substitution but we had too."

Coulibaly slotted in well at right-back for Leicester and defended well against Raheem Sterling. The 25-year-old won two of his three tackles, made three interceptions and five recoveries.

An update on Justin is expected to come in van Nistelrooy's pre-Brentford press conference.
