Ryan Hardie's two goals in the 2-1 Championship win against West Bromwich Albion at Home Park last Saturday means only 13 Plymouth Argyle players have scored more often than him in the club's history.

Hardie took his goal tally for the Pilgrims since he first joined them on loan in January 2020 to 66, the same as former captain Paul Wotton, now the manager of National League South side Torquay United.

The pair are joint 14th in the club's all-time goalscoring chart, with Hardie up to 234 appearamces for Argyle while Wotton's total of 491 games is second only to Kevin Hodges (620).

Hardie will need another eight goals for the Pilgrims to catch up with Mike Bickle and Jack Cock, who are equal 12th on 74 goals, while he will need to reach 81 to break into the top 10 alongside George Dews and Michael Evans.

The Scottish striker said: "I want to keep climbing the goal scoring charts. I have just levelled Paul Wotton, so let's keep going! When told that, like him, the former Argyle captain got a lot of his goals with penalties, Hardie added: "I need to watch some of his clips!"
