Hollywood-owned Wrexham have been fined yet again after their players were involved in a brawl with League One rivals Bristol Rovers last month.

Both clubs were previously charged by the FA over a fracas after the final whistle of their 1-1 draw at the Memorial Stadium in Bristol on December 21.

It has now been revealed that Wrexham, owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have been fined £6,000 for their part in the row, while Rovers received a smaller penalty of £3,500.

An FA spokesperson said: "Both clubs admitted that, following the conclusion of the match, they failed to ensure that their players did not behave in a way which is improper and provocative. The sanctions were subsequently imposed by an independent regulatory commission."

It marks the third time this season the Red Dragons have been punished for failing to control their players.

Scuffles also broke out during their Carabao Cup game against Sheffield United and league match at Birmingham City, both in September.

Wrexham are currently chasing a third successive promotion and were in the lead for most of last month's fixture against Bristol Rovers thanks to an 18th minute goal scored by former Luton Town man Elliot Lee.

However, they were dealt a late hammer blow as Promise Omochere equalised for the home team with only a few minutes left on the clock.

Tempers frayed at the end of the contest as footage shared on social media appeared to show Rovers defender James Wilson shoving Wrexham midfielder Ollie Rathbone.

A melee then ensued between both sides with ex-Premier League players James McClean and Steven Fletcher in the thick of it for Phil Parkinson's men.

The pair received yellow cards for their involvement in the incident along with Wilson, but former Republic of Ireland international McClean was in no mood to say sorry after the match.

Posting on Instagram, the Wrexham captain shared an image of him and Fletcher together, along with the caption: "No crap taken, no apology issued" followed by the shoulder shrug emoji.

Some Wrexham fans voiced their frustration at their club receiving the larger fine after details of the punishment were made public.

Posting on X, formerly Twitter, the Rob Ryan Red fan podcast said: "£6,000 fine for a melee started by Bristol Rovers. Great."

Another supporter said: "These fines for squabbles are getting out of hand. Just let the lads have a barney and be done with it unless they are committing evil crimes."

However, it is understood Wrexham's players' previous bad behaviour contributed to the size of the penalty.

The sanction is unlikely to dent the club's coffers too deeply, with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds alone estimated to be worth around $350 million (£281 million).

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Canadian actor makes just under £15.4m per film, with the money topped up by his vast business empire.

Reynolds has bought and sold stakes in the likes of Aviation Gin and Mint Mobile in the past, achieving a sizeable return on his investments.
