SAINTS Women trio Araya Dennis, Vivienne Lia and Laila Harbert have been called into the England under-19s squad ahead of the Albir Garden Tournament later this month.

Lauren Smith's Young Lionesses side return to action for the first time in 2025 with fixtures against reigning under-19 European Champions Spain, the USA and the Netherlands.

Youngsters Dennis, Lia and Harbert all joined Saints Women on loan in January, adding much-needed depth to Remi Allen's injury-hit side.

They started at St Mary's in Southampton FC's disappointing 2-2 draw against Newcastle which saw Amy Andrews score a 94th-minute equaliser.

Speaking to the Daily Echo after that draw, Allen said of the youngsters: "Since they've been in in the last few weeks, they've kicked on.

"They've worked so hard. They're young, they're spirited, they're energetic and they'll bounce back from this.

"We've got to work hard with them and get them in the best possible place so they can help us and then go back to their parent clubs."

Saints are without a representative in England's under-23s squad for the first time since September 2022.

However, three former Saints players have been named in Emma Coates' squad: Kayla Rendell (Manchester United), Ella Morris (Tottenham) and Lexi Lloyd-Smith (Bristol City).

Fran Stenson, Tara Bourne and Lucia Kendall have all been dropped from the squad with Saints Women sitting eighth in the Women's Championship.

Allen's side are without a league victory since November 3, when they secured a 1-0 victory away at Charlton Athletic thanks to Bourne's goal.

Loaned-out midfielder Alice Griffiths, who joined Durham on deadline day, has been called up to the Wales squad ahead of their Nations League campaign.

Fellow Cymru international Rachel Rowe has not been included in Rhian Wilkinson's squad due to injury.

Southampton FC Women visit Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Sunday, February 16. The Robins sit seven points clear of them and could climb to the top of the Championship with a victory.
