Saints working on deal to sign Rennes midfielder on loan with option to buy
SAINTS are working on a deal to sign midfielder Albert Grønbæk on loan from Rennes with an option to buy, the Daily Echo understands.
Southampton are hopeful of making the six-time Denmark international Ivan Juric’s first senior signing.
Grønbæk, 23, has played 16 times for Rennes in Ligue 1, scoring twice and providing one assist, having joined the club this season.
He could now depart France six months after a €12million (about £10million) move from Bødo/Glimt in July.
Grønbæk is capable of playing in the centre of midfield or on the wing and scored 30 goals in 88 games for Norwegian side Bødo/Glimt.

He would become Southampton's third former Rennes player, alongside Kamaldeen Sulemana and Lesley Ugochukwu.
Asked for an update on transfer following a 3-2 defeat to Forest, Juric admitted he wants player who can compete in the Premier League.
He told the Daily Echo: "I think we have other players that I think will leave and I hope that we can bring the players that are competitive for the Premier League."
Saints have already signed French youth defender Joachim Kayi Sanda this month and Welington has arrived from Brazil.
