Sam Allardyce delivers John Eustace to Derby County verdict as Liverpool hero wades in
Former England manager Sam Allardyce believes John Eustace must feel that he stands a better chance of steering Derby County to the Premier League quicker than he can with Blackburn.
Eustace is in the process of wrapping up his switch to the Rams from Rovers with the last legal details of the contract to be ironed out.
Derby triggered a compensation clause of around £500,000 in Eustace's contract in a bid to secure his services and it appears to be just a matter of time before he returns to Pride Park where he had two spells as a player.

The former Birmingham boss will swap a play-off challenge for a relegation battle with Derby currently above the bottom three on goals scored after last night's goalless draw with Oxford United.
Many in football have questioned why he is leaving Ewood Park, but it has been claimed that Eustace did not feel supported at Rovers.
After a disappointing January transfer window, fans have also been disillusioned with life under their owners, the Venkys, amid calls for them to sell the club.
Former Blackburn boss Allardyce, talking on his Tippy Tappy podcast, believes 45-year-old Eustace might see Derby as having a faster chance of Premier League football.
"He (John Eustace) must see it as a positive move to get Derby back in the Premier League quicker than he can get Blackburn," said the 70-year-old.
Liverpool legend Phil Thompson, a guest on the show, added: “As Sam says, it’s (Blackburn) still one of the big names, so is Derby by the way, but you see the Venky’s and when I came in I said, ‘are they still in charge?’, I thought they’d changed (owners).
“Why don’t they do that (sell the club), for the good of the club, the town? It is just not right.”
