Sammy Silvera Middlesbrough latest as Portsmouth transfer 'catch-up' planned
PORTSMOUTH boss John Mousinho says he's awaiting a decision on the short-term future of Middlesbrough loanee Sammy Silvera.
The Australian international joined Pompey on a season-long loan in the summer but the move hasn't worked out and Boro boss Michael Carrick last week confirmed a recall was being considered.
Since being criticised by Portsmouth's fans in last month's defeat to Bristol City, with supporters singing for him to be "sent back" to Boro, Silvera was an unused substitute in the win over Swansea but absent from the squad for yesterday's defeat to Sunderland.
Silvera has been a fringe figure in recent months and Portsmouth need to get players off their books to create space in the squad for four new signings, which is their January transfer aim.

Asked whether he expects Silvera to return to Boro, Mousinho said on Sunday: "We're not sure yet. We're not sure on the situation yet.
"And anything on transfers and internal players in the couple of days leading into a game, I don't have anything to do with it, so I'll catch up with the sporting director after and see where we're at."
Mousinho added: "Sometimes that's what happens, players go on loan or you sign them and they don't work out. It's just one of those things. That's just part of recruitment, some you get right and some you don't.
"We're looking to try and strengthen this month so we'll look forward to that."
On the prospect of recalling Silvera, Carrick said last week: "There are possibilities, yeah.
"That’s not much more to give you. It’s that stage where we’re considering what’s best for us, for Sammy and what that looks like. We’ll wait and see on that one.”
