A one-sided defeat to Arsenal left a saddened Savinho calling for the blame to be shared as he reflected upon the heaviest loss of his Manchester City career to date.

The winger was part of Pep Guardiola's side that succumbed 4-0 at home to Tottenham earlier in the campaign. However, City hit another new low this season after conceding five at the Emirates on Sunday, leaving them 15 points off the Premier League summit.

Whatever faint hopes City might have had of keeping the title race alive now look well and truly extinguished. And Savinho's comments after full-time in north London appeared to reflect the general mood of the away dressing room.

"It was very frustrating and sad. I don't think any player likes to lose, especially with that scoreline," he told Telemundo. "It was a very heavy defeat today."

After joining from Troyes in the summer, Savio is still one of the greenest members of this City side. But despite being just 20 years of age, the prospect has already developed a keen sense of responsibility around more senior stars.

"The responsibility lies with all players," he continued. "Thank God I have a good personality for playing, for understanding the game and what it asks of me, so I think I've been helping the team, but I'm really sad about today's defeat."

When asked about Arsenal putting five past City for the first time in 22 years, the youngster tried to look on the bright side. "Well, think of all the titles we have won, but yes, they won today. Now, we must think game by game and see what happens the rest of the season," he added.

City travel to Leyton Orient on Saturday in the fourth round of the FA Cup, their most realistic remaining shot at silverware. They also maintained their Champions League status last week but may not be feeling too optimistic ahead of the two-legged knockout tie against reigning champions Real Madrid.
