I saw Arne Slot reaction to Liverpool moment and he will completely agree with Jurgen Klopp text

Arne Slot has not always made the decisions that the Liverpool players might have anticipated. His rotation has been more sparing and less wholesale than Jurgen Klopp's generally, but he isn't scared of making changes.

Against Spurs just a few days ago, Dominik Szoboszlai played his best game since signing for the Reds from RB Leipzig in 2023. Later the same week, he found himself among the subs, with Curtis Jones preferred at Anfield.

While taking Luis Diaz out of the starting XI to keep the Colombian fresh is no bad idea, few would have expected to see Darwin Nunez in the side either. Diogo Jota, once more, has been made to wait.

No Liverpool player can argue with what Slot is doing, though. His record in terms of results is next to impeccable, and the big calls that he makes are continually being proven correct.

Jones came in here and scored, while looking sharp. He could have scored another, quite easily, in a strong performance. Nunez, meanwhile, played his part more in the second half than the first — and ultimately, Liverpool won comfortably.

For Jones, this was another milestone. Talent-wise, he has never had anything to prove, but in terms of his consistency — of both form and fitness — he has not always been perfect. Now having hit the 100 league appearances mark for his boyhood club, though, there should be no more question marks still hanging over him.

"I came in then and normally text family and I saw a text off [Jurgen] Klopp saying 'congratulations on 100 games and here’s to 500'," he explained while speaking to Match of the Day. "I was like what is he on about?'. I just checked then and I am proud. It was him who set up the team we have now. The foundation was there and Slot has carried it on."

Slot is seemingly getting the best out of Jones and whenever he is called upon at the moment, he is delivering. And when he scored the goal that put Liverpool in front, his head coach was delighted, leaping up into the air. In large part, that would have been because his team had quickly got its nose in front; it must also, to some extent, have been pleasure at the scorer.

"It looks good but there are plenty of games to come. You can play a team at the bottom, middle or top and it is a hard game," Jones continued. "It is about trying to win every single game and if we do that everybody knows what comes at the end."

Under Slot, Jones has been excellent. While Szoboszlai was deserving of more minutes here based on his performance, Jones justified the decision to go a different way. At West Ham on Sunday, he will likely get a second go with the Hungarian suspended.
