Scott McTominay's dazzling displays for Napoli have caught the eye of Juventus legend Alessio Tacchinardi - who believes the midfield dynamo is like a younger version of his current manager Antonio Conte.

The 28-year-old has taken to Serie A like a house on fire since his £25.7million move from Manchester United last summer, scoring six times in his first 20 matches. The Scotland star was on the scoresheet in last weekend's crucial 3-2 away victory against Atalanta that has kept Conte's team three points clear of Inter Milan at the top of the table.

The plaudits keep coming for McTominay, who was recently compared to Roma and Brazil icon Falcao. And now Tacchinardi - who played alongside Conte at Juventus between 1994 and 2004 with the duo helping the Turin giants lift five Scudettos and the Champions League - reckons the Scot and fellow midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa embody everything that tough-tackling enforcer Conte was during his own playing career.

Speaking to Radio Kiss Napoli (via calcionapoli1926.it), he said: "Antonio Conte is a phenomenon, he has changed Napoli 's mentality. This year, given how the championship is going, he has too good an opportunity.

"Juventus is recovering but they play in the Champions League during the week and there are many injured. You can see images that are clear signs of a hungry team that wants to win.

"The players weigh you down on the first day of training, the team follows him and they have all improved. Anguissa and McTominay are two players who remind me of the Conte who played with me."
