Aberdeen's return to Scottish Cup action is drawing closer, with the Premiership sides soon set to learn who they will face in the fourth round to kick-off 2025.

Last season the Dons came a penalty kick away from the final, having pushed Celtic all the way in a thrilling semi-final at Hampden, and after being dumped out of the Premier Sports Cup by the Hoops at the same stage this term, they will be looking to go one further under Jimmy Thelin.

The Swede has not had the best of luck when it comes to cup competitions, but he will be hoping for a kinder draw to look forward to in January, and there is the potential for a clash with city neighbours Cove Rangers who downed Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday.

Peterhead won't be part of the draw after falling to a 3-2 defeat at Montrose, nor Banks O'Dee who were beaten at home by Hamilton, but there could be a clash with Fraserburgh for Aberdeen after their superb victory against Annan Athletic on Saturday.

Here's all you need to know ahead of the cup draw as Aberdeen look to begin their run to a first Scottish Cup crown since 1990 in style in the New Year.

When is the Scottish Cup fourth round draw?

The draw will take place on Monday, December 2 following the conclusion of the third round clash between East Kilbride v Falkirk. Coverage of the match begins at 7.30pm with kick off at 7.45pm.
