Excitement is building around the Scottish Cup quarter-final draw, and for Aberdeen fans the competition is proving to be the sole source of joy.

Jimmy Thelin's men marched on to the last eight after beating Dunfermline Athletic 3-0 at Pittodrie on Sunday afternoon as they edge closer towards a Hampden return.

The Scottish Cup has eluded the Dons for 35 years, with their most recent triumph dating back to 1990, and they will be hoping for a kind draw in the quarters.

Thelin’s men will also be hoping to carry the momentum into the league, as their top six spot begins to look uncertain amid their 14-game winless streak.

Aberdeen will play four Premiership matches before returning to the Scottish Cup action, with a trip to Dens Park up next for the Reds.

There's then the tough tasks of Kilmarnock, Celtic and Dundee United, but for those who can't wait for the last eight, here's all you need to know as Aberdeen wait to see who they will face in the next round.
