THE Sport and Recreation Alliance is seeking nominations to recognise inspirational young people in sport and recreation from the Isle of Wight.

The national awards programme, Community Sport and Recreation Awards: Youth Edition 2025, celebrates its 90th anniversary by identifying future leaders in grassroots sport and recreation.

The search is on for nominees across nine categories, including Young Coach of the Year, Young Advocate of the Year, Young Fundraiser of the Year, and Young Sports Official of the Year.

To be eligible, individuals must be between 18 and 30 years old, this year.

Self-nominations are accepted, with the deadline for entries on February 12.

A spokesperson for the alliance said: "If you know someone involved in sport and recreation who has gone above and beyond in the local community, simply nominate them before the deadline.

"It would be fantastic to see our local area represented."

An event celebrating the finalists will be held later this year.
