Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has not ruled out a potential move for Andrea Cambiaso to Manchester City. The 24-year-old has been linked with a January transfer to the Etihad after impressing for the Old Lady this season.

He has featured in 26 of their 29 matches across all competitions and has been an integral cog in their bid to go the entire Serie A campaign unbeaten. Although Thiago Motta's side sit fourth and 13 points behind leaders Napoli, they have not lost any of their first 21 games - winning eight and drawing 13. They have conceded the second-fewest in the division (17) and beat Champions League rivals AC Milan 2-1 on Saturday.

As for Cambiaso, rumours have intensified over his future following a string of excellent performances. City have been tipped to sign the Italy international in a bid to solve their defensive woes. While Cambiaso is a left-back by trade, he has been used at right-back and even on the right wing at times this season. He even played 45 matches at the start of his senior career in central midfield and 43 as a left midfielder.

It's that sort of versatility that could make him an attractive proposition, especially to the likes of Pep Guardiola and City. Reports have suggested that the Blues are in talks over signing the £80million-rated defender and that Guardiola is keen to bring in an orthodox left-back - something they haven't had since Benjamin Mendy, who was suspended and later released after sexual allegations were made against him. He was cleared in 2023.

And now, Juventus director Giuntoli has provided an update on Cambiaso's future. In an interview with Dazn, Giuntoli said: "There are no negotiations right now, in all honesty.

"We want to bring players in to cover certain areas hit by long-term injuries and are not thinking about sales. No offer has arrived, if it does, then we will evaluate it."

Speaking in a press conference on Friday, Juventus boss Motta confirmed that Cambiaso would play for the club against Milan amid speculation surrounding his future. He said: "You know I don’t like to talk about the transfer market, but Andrea Cambiaso is fine and will play tomorrow."
