New Senior Football League structure to be introduced
A number of changes were agreed upon at the first Fermanagh GAA county board meeting of the year.
After a number of years of being on the table, the motion to go from two Senior Football League divisions to three was passed.
This had been brought by Newtownbutler and Brookeborough and will come into action for the 2026 season.
It is understood Division One will be made up of eights teams, Division Two will consist of six as will Division Three.
The Competition Controls Committee will now put together regulations for the three divisions.
It is expected that these will be released before the beginning of this year's competitive senior action.
A change that will come into effect this season will be the move from a 'First 13' to a 'First 11'.
The 'First 13' was made up of players in each club that could only play Senior football.
While it was a 'First Nine' initially proposed it was agreed that 11 was the magic number.
