'Are you serious?' - Jamie Carragher stunned by what Man United icon Gary Neville said about Man City star
Jamie Carragher couldn't hide his disbelief as Gary Neville named Manchester City ace Josko Gvardiol as his left-back of the season so far.
Carragher and Neville were asked to pick an XI each made up of the best performers in the Premier League so far this season. The pair agreed on many of the picks, with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Chris Wood among those to feature in their respective XIs.
However, one position they could not agree on was left-back.

City have been in awful form of late and have been sieving goals, but that didn't stop Neville from picking Gvardiol as the best Premier League left-back of the season so far. Carragher opted to pick Fulham's Antonee Robinson as his left-back and he couldn't hide his astonishment when Neville's pick was revealed.
"How have you picked Gvardiol at left-back?" the former Liverpool defender asked. "He gives a gives a goal away every game! Have you actually watched Man City? Obviously not enough. Are you serious?"
Neville went on to explain his decision, saying: "Left-back is the position I was struggling with most. He's scored four goals, he's always a threat, he's been the one who has consistently played and he's still the left-back I would pick, at this moment in time, in the league if I was picking a team right now.
"If I was thinking about building a back four, he’d be the player I'd put in at left-back. He's a goal threat, he does his job reasonably well. City are giving goals away left, right and centre, it's not usual for them but who else is there in the league?"
Carragher responded: "We're picking on the first half of the season and he's given goals away, so why have you picked him?"
Neville offered a blunt response, saying: "Because I think he's the best left-back in the league."
