It's not been a vintage 2024/25 for Manchester United so far, but there have already been signs of progress since the arrival of Ruben Amorim in November.

After Ineos decided to stick with Erik ten Hag after sounding out a number of potential replacements in the summer, the Dutchman was dismissed just nine league games into the new season.

After Ruud van Nistelrooy's brief stint in caretaker charge, Amorim was brought in as United's new head coach. The Portuguese has wasted no time in looking to bring an identity to United - something that was sorely lacking under Ten Hag - and the January transfer window is another opportunity for him to make his mark at the club.
