Six Newcastle United stars could miss Carabao Cup semi-final with Arsenal
Newcastle United head into tonight's Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal full of confidence having won their last five Premier League games in a row.
Eddie Howe's side have beaten Nottingham Forest, AFC Wimbledon, Chelsea and Brentford to reach the semi-final stage of the cup competition and a win against the Gunners over two legs would mean they would reach their second Carabao Cup Final in three years. The Toon were beaten by Manchester United in the final on their last visit and will be looking to get their hands on some silverware this season.
However, Newcastle could be without as many as six players for the trip to the Emirates this evening, with a number of key players out injured or suspended.

With that in mind, Chronicle Live has taken a closer look at who could miss the clash this evening.
Fabian Schar
Influential defender Fabian Schar is suspended for the clash with Mikel Arteta's side. The Swiss defender played a huge part in Newcastle's resolute defence that secured Champions League football in 2022/23 and the same side that reached the final in 2023.
He should be back in time for the clash with Bromley in the FA Cup.
Bruno Guimaraes
Brazilian playmaker Bruno Guimaraes is another who'll definitely miss the trip to North London this evening. Like Schar, he's suspended for the game but should be back in contention for the weekend.
Nick Pope
First-choice goalkeeper Nick Pope is also set to miss the game this evening. Martin Dubravka has been reliable in the England international's absence who is still a few weeks away from featuring.
Jamaal Lascelles
Club captain Jamaal Lascelles is still out as he recovers from a long-term ACL injury but is nearing the end of his rehabilitation. The centre-back is yet to feature this season having picked up the injury in April 2024.
Emil Krafth
Swedish defender Emil Krafth is another guaranteed absentee as he recovers from a broken collarbone that has kept him out of the last 12 matchday squads.
Callum Wilson
Callum Wilson is another who is yet to kick a ball this season and his latest hamstring injury means he'll be out for another couple of weeks.
Doubts
Sven Botman and Anthony Gordon are also both doubts for the clash with Arsenal, having picked up knocks in the recent win over Spurs. Both are expected to be okay, but Howe will want to take caution with his Dutch centre-half having not played for the last 10 months.
The Newcastle boss clarified that Botman was withdrawn with cramp at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while Gordon took a nasty blow to the face and cut his nose, but should be okay to feature tonight.
