Sky pundit ‘who hates Arsenal’ in agreement with Mikel Arteta about Michael Oliver red card call
Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara has questioned why referee Michael Oliver is officiating Arsenal matches after his latest controversial decision involving the Gunners.
The first half during Arsenal's win against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday saw Myles Lewis-Skelly halt a threatening counter-attack from a corner. Typically, such incidents would warrant a yellow card, but to the Gunners' dismay, referee Oliver brandished a straight red for violent conduct.
Oliver's decision caused outrage among Arsenal players, staff and fans with Lewis-Skelly set to miss the club's next three domestic fixtures unless his red card is retrospectively rescinded by the FA (Football Association). The incident was far from the first contentious decision involving Oliver and Mikel Arteta's team.

Arteta was left far from impressed by Martinelli's sending off in this exact fixture in February 2022, with the 23-year-old shown two yellow cards in a matter of seconds, one for attempting to delay the restart and the other for committing a cynical foul.
Another moment of controversy saw the official give Leandro Trossard his marching orders in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City earlier this season with Arteta again angered by the decision. A separate incident in a game between the two sides last season saw City's Mateo Kovacic lucky to escape a first-half red card when the Croatian made two questionable challenges.
And O'Hara, who has been a consistent critic of Arsenal and their disciplinary issues, having played for north London rivals Spurs, has shared his disbelief that Oliver was assigned the Gunners' fixture against Wolves this weekend.
"Oliver gets too many decisions wrong," he said on Sky Sports News. "Referees get decisions wrong. Michael Oliver's a good ref.
"But is there a point where you go, 'is his head a little bit scrambled when he referees Arsenal football matches'? I mean, psychologically there must be a thought in his mind where he's going 'I've had some really bad decisions. I've had some controversy.'
"I don't know why he keeps getting Arsenal games. Why do you keep giving him an Arsenal game? He causes too many issues."
