The TV schedule for the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup has now been confirmed as Newcastle United gear up for a two-legged tie against Arsenal.

It's been a promising campaign for the Magpies in the competition so far having knocked out Nottingham Forest, AFC Wimbledon, Chelsea and Brentford en route to the last-four.

They will now take on Arsenal in a bid to reach their second League Cup final in three years having narrowly missed out on the trophy in the 2023 following a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United at Wembley. It's a competition Newcastle have never won but have been runners-up on just two occasions in 2023 and all the way back in 1976.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will contest the other semi-final with a spot in the showpiece event at Wembley Stadium on March 16 up for grabs. The EFL have confirmed that all ties will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, but the first leg of Newcastle's clash with Arsenal and the second leg of Liverpool vs Spurs will also be shown on ITV1 and ITVX.

This is part of a collaboration that aims to give all UK football fans the chance to watch free-to-air coverage of select Carabao Cup and EFL fixtures this season. Eddie Howe's side are away for the first leg, which will be free to air, but the second leg at home to the Gunners will be shown exclusively on Sky Sports.

The first meeting at the Emirates Stadium will take place on Tuesday, January 7 with kick-off scheduled for 8pm. The second leg will then take place almost a month later on Wednesday, February 5 and will also get underway at 8pm.

Newcastle have already faced Arsenal once this season in the Premier League. The Magpies narrowly edged a 1-0 victory at St James' Park back in November courtesy of an early goal from Alexander Isak.
