Slough Town 2 Torquay United 2 - late drama as Gulls let lead slip and drop off top
Thirty-nine-year-old substitute Dean Moxey thought he had scored the winner when Torquay United drew with Slough Town tonight - but a late equaliser by Slough Town denied the Gulls and knocked them off of the top of the table.
Having gone 1-0 ahead through in-form midfielder Jordan Young in the first half this evening, National League South leaders Torquay were pegged back in the second half before Moxey's goal in the 89th looked to have won it. But a second equaliser by defender Dan Bayliss made it 2-2 - in th 96th minutes - and with Boreham Wood winning 3-1 at Chippenham Town, the Gulls slipped to second place.
Paul Wotton made one change from the team that started the 1-1 draw at St Albans City on Saturday, with Omar Mussa coming into midfield for Will Jenkins Davies.

It was another artificial pitch for the Gulls today, with their performances away from Plainmoor are always seemingly affected by fake surfaces, but they started really well - took the game to the home side - and a mistake by Slough's player-manager Scott Davies gifted Young a chance in the 13th minute, which he took on the volley brilliantly to give them a 1-0 lead.
Torquay's pace, tonight, was a bit much for Slough. Cooke could only put a shot wide of the post when he brought down a Mussa corner in the 27th minute. Hamon was called upon to make a really good save - with his legs - from a Johnny Goodard strike in the 38th minute. Hamon also dealt with a Francis Amartey cross too. Slavi Spasov headed over in the 41st minute. With Slough coming back into it, Young sent a free kick just over the bar in the final minute of the first half.
With captain Oscar Threlkeld struggling with a problem in the latter stages of the first half, Lirak Hasani came on for the second half - and defender Sam Dreyer took the armband. Mussa had a defelcted shot go wide in the opening minutes of the second half, and the ball bounced around the box from the corner but no one could force it in.
Charlie Horlock saved a Hasani shot in the 48th minute. Jenkins Davies came on for Morgan in the 55th minute. Matt Carson came on for a Jay Foulston that looked to be struggling in the 60th minute. Mussa shot over the bar a minute later.
Slough equalised moments later - out of the blue! - with Carson beaten, Goddard was first to react to a ball into the six-yard box, and it was a simple finish. Time to up the press because Slough might fancy blood. And they did!
Ed Palmer came on for Cooke - with Mussa going up front, supported by a phalanx of attacking midfielders. But Torquay had dropped to second with Boreham Wood leading at Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Spasov had a shot deflected over as Slough enjoyed the best of the 90 minutes - and Palmer and Hamon were forced to clear up from the corner. Mussa shot over with another chance, and Jenkins Davies shot wide.
Jordan Dyer came off looking injured with 10 minutes to go, with Dean Moxey coming on. Jenkins Davies was fouled in the 82th minute and it was a free kick. Jordan Thomas was the next player to go down - and see the physio.
And then two subbs combined as Palmer popped up to guide a beautiful header back into the box - and Moxey was there. What a moment! It looked like it was all over.
No one was sure where the six minutes that were added on came from - but the last of them saw Bayliss' equaliser knock the Gulls off the top.
