Sarpsborg have broken their silence amid interest in star winger Sondre Orjasaeter.

Celtic are said to be ramping up their bid to land the Norwegian with Brendan Rodgers looking to strike a deal in the region of £7million before the winter window slams shut. Fans' favourite Jota returned on Monday in a move that delighted the Hoops faithful, but the hard work is still going on behind the scenes.

However, Hampus Andersson, sporting director at Sarpsborg, has told Sky Sports News that his current club will do everything in their power to keep a hold of Orjasaeter - who also has interest from Fiorentina, Parma and Nice - in this window and at least keep him on their books until the end of the season. He said: “In general, Sondre is and has been a highly valued player for us. Our main goal is to not sell him this window and keep him for at least to the end of the season.”

It's set to be a busy last week of business in Glasgow's east end with Kyogo already out the door to Rennes. Others are expected to follow with interest in wide-man Luis Palma. A number of fringe men have already left on loan. Incomings wise, a deal for Celtic diehard and Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney on a pre-contract is ongoing. But they face a wait whether he will arrive this month.
