There could soon be a Dele Alley in Norfolk to mark England’s World Cup heroics
Dele Alli.
South Norfolk Council has announced that they will name roads after England’s World Cup squad should they bring back the trophy from Russia.
The council announced that it would not be providing any big screens for the public to watch the semi-final against Croatia, but did confirm that they would be naming streets to commemorate any achievement.
Michael Edney, the council deputy leader, confirmed that England’s Harry Kane, Dele Alli or Harry Maguire might feature in any new road names:
“While wholeheartedly supporting the national team, the council does not have any plans to organise a public screening of England’s appearances in the semi-final and then final of the World Cup.”

In a moment of hubris, and something that tempts fate ahead of the semi-final clash, Edney said he was confident that World Cup success in Russia was a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if’:
“We will, however, consider naming the streets of our next Big Sky development site after the team when they bring home the trophy.
“Kane Rise, Dele Alley or Maguire Close could be coming to somewhere in South Norfolk soon.”
