Sporting feeling full effect of Ruben Amorim's Man United switch after furious reaction
On Tuesday night Sporting CP lost their fourth match out of five since Ruben Amorim departed for Manchester United, with the club's supporters turning on Viktor Gyokeres and the club's other stars.
Man United and Sporting came to a swift agreement to allow Amorim to step into the vacant role at Old Trafford during the November international break. Since coming to England and kickstarting his next project he has won two, lost two and drawn one in all competitions.
Over in Portugal, where Amorim won two Primeira Liga titles before 16 wins out 17 games this season, the situation has turned sour.

Under Joao Pereira, who stepped up from managing the club's reserve team after Amorim left, they have lost four out of five outings.
His first match in charge was a 6-0 cup win over third-division Amarante, since then, they've suffered two league defeats and two Champions League defeats. One of those was a 5-1 humbling at the hands of Arsenal, and the other was last night as the conceded an early lead to Club Brugge in Belgium.
Frustrated Sporting supporters launched pyrotechnics towards their players and coaching staff as they came to their corner to show appreciation after the final whistle.
This included Gyokeres - scorer of 66 goals in 68 matches under Amorim, but only has two in five since they stopped working together. The striker has been linked with joining the coach at Man United next season, and last night gestured questioning the fans' actions.
He and captain Morten Hjulmand reportedly ushered teammates, who looked unsettled, back towards the tunnel.
"The results haven't been what was expected," Pereira responded. "I cannot have any doubts about what I think and what I want the team to do. I have no doubts that the future will be much better than it has been so far."
Despite their recent poor form, Sporting still have control of their domestic league with a two-point advantage at the top, and sit in a Champions League play-off qualifying spot with two rounds of fixtures to go.
