Springhill Boxing Club enjoyed a successful ‘home’ show at Rivals Gym in Wishaw recently, with seven wins out of 11 fights.

Matthew Poskitt, 21, was Best Home Boxer of the Night, on an evening when the fights were evenly matched.

The Shotts club actually sent 16 fighters to the Wishaw show, but four were involved in exhibition matches, while Sophie Wright’s bout unfortunately didn’t take place.

Head coach Frank Delaney said: “Thanks to all our sponsors, without whom the show wouldn’t have been possible.”

The success comes after the club had nine boxers taking part in the Scottish Development Championships at Ravenscraig last month, taking three gold and two silver medals.

Springhill Boxing Club is currently closed for the festive period and will re-open on Monday, January 6.
