  • Even in rehab, Stefon Diggs is still making plays

  • The Houston Texans wide receiver, who tore his ACL in an season-ending injury in October, is offering free pizzas to his fantasy football fans

  • Headed to free agency this offseason, Diggs' future is unknown, but he tells PEOPLE he has nothing but love for his former teammates on the Buffalo Bills

Stefon Diggs may be on injured reserve, but he’s delivering an “emergency pizza” to lucky fans!

The star wide receiver — who tore his ACL in October amid a new start with the Houston Texans — tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that he’s staying in the game thanks to a new partnership with Domino’s.

“It’s just a great thing for me to be involved in,” Diggs, 31, tells PEOPLE. “It was a good way to kind of give back because that fantasy football stuff is pretty serious.”

In the promotion, fans of Diggs who can prove that they had him on their fantasy teams can win free pizza.

“If you know anything about it, people kind of talk a lot of junk about it if you're not producing any points,” Diggs said. “I thought this is a great opportunity to give the people something that they could benefit from, even with me not playing.”

When the Maryland native tore his ACL in a late October game against the Colts, it was a devastating moment for the resurgent veteran, who was eight games into his career in Houston after high-profile run alongside quarterback Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

“It was a whirlwind of emotions when I got hurt,” Diggs tells PEOPLE, adding that he was mentally prepared for the aftermath and rehab, due to his experience suffering injuries in college.

“I still think I'm more Wolverine, and I'm invincible,” he says.

Prior to the injury — and despite having to adapt to Houston’s highway sprawl and its heat — Diggs says it’s been an easy transition switching to the Texans.

“You got to know that when I first got to Houston – even prior to me going to Houston — I threw with C.J. [Stroud] and a couple of my teammates prior to even being around the whole team,” he tells PEOPLE. “It felt like I knew them my whole life. I felt like we've been kicking it for a long time. It felt like brothers, for real, for real. So just that process of me being in Houston, I was so happy. I woke up every day happy. It was a little hot, I ain't going to lie, but every day I woke up with a smile. Just the fact that I was blessed to be where I was at.”

RIght now, he says he’s right where he wants to be — among “good guys” who are accountable for one another — even if Stroud “drags” him to Bible study.

“It's more layers to it than you would expect,” Diggs says about his new place in it all — where he’s geographically closer at least to younger brother Trevon Diggs, the Dallas Cowboys star cornerback. “It’s bigger than football.”

With his future in Houston up in the air — and with other teams hoping to land him in free agency this spring — Diggs reflects on his years in Buffalo, all 37 touchdowns and 5,372 yards of it over four seasons, as a “great time.”

“I always want everybody to do well, especially except for when they play me, but other than that, I'm always pulling for 'em,” he says about the Bills. “I just navigate through life with a lot of love no matter what people say about me or how things happen around me. I just like to move with a lot of love. But my time back in Buffalo, I look at it as I had a hell of a time. I had a hell of a year, hell of a season. It was good years, man, that I'll never forget.”
