Steve Clarke will officially name his Scotland squad for Euro 2024 next week.

Yesterday marked a month until the Scots play host nation Germany in the opening ceremony at the Allianz Arena. And it's fair to say that excitement is building as thousands of the Tartan Army get set to take over Germany for the mouthwatering tournament.

Scotland will get the tournament underway at the home of Bayern Munich on Friday June 14 before facing Switzerland at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne five days later. Andy Robertson and Co. will then round off the Group A campaign against Hungary on Sunday June 23 as they look to book their place in the knockout stages.

Before that, though, Clarke's squad will warm up for the Euros with a friendly away to Gibraltar on June 3. They'll then be given a massive send-off at Hampden when they host Finland four days later before flying out to their luxury training base at Hotel Obermühle at the Bavarian resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Clarke - who has led Scotland to back-to-back European Championships - will be allowed to select 26 players for his squad. And that could see him draft in some wildcards as he deals with an injury crisis. Bologna's Lewis Ferguson has already been ruled out after suffering a nightmare ACL injury, while Brentford boss Thomas Frank has cast doubt over Aaron Hickey's chances of returning to fitness having been sidelined since the end of October.

Stuart Armstrong is battling back from a season-ending hamstring injury, although boss Russell Martin is optimistic the Southampton star will be available. But the same can't be said for Everton full-back Nathan Patterson, who underwent surgery on a hamstring injury.

With Patterson and Hickey huge doubts, that could leave Clarke with a huge dilemma over who to pick for right-back. Versatile James Forrest's return to form with Celtic could see the veteran winger - who can also play right full-back - drafted back into contention, while Hoops defender Anthony Ralston is also in line for a call-up.

However, there could still be a few places up for grabs and the SFA have confirmed that Clarke will announce his squad on Wednesday May 22 as part of the kick-off to the Week of Football 2024.
