I still have Alejandro Garnacho transfer theory despite Enzo Maresca's Chelsea admission
It was always going to come. A question on Alejandro Garnacho. However, you never expected Enzo Maresca to give too much away on Chelsea's transfer plans.
football.london understands the Blues are preparing an offer for Garnacho, who is said to be valued at around £60million by Manchester United, as the west Londoners step up their interest in the 20-year-old wide man. Chelsea are exploring their options in the left wing department in the January transfer window and with 10 days remaining until the February 3 deadline, Garnacho seems to be the main target in that position despite interest in Jamie Gittens and Mathys Tel as well.
Maresca, though, was coy in his pre-Manchester City press conference. The Chelsea head coach launched a firm defence for the options he already has on the wings. "No, no, I'm happy with the ones we have in this moment," said the Italian when asked about Garnacho on Friday morning.

"I have said many times, on the right side is Pedro [Neto] and Noni [Madueke] and on the left side is Jadon [Sancho]. Misha [Mudryk was with us but now he is not with us. Tyrique [George] is a young profile that can help us. In this moment, we are okay."
Chelsea, though, are understood to be prepping a bid for Garnacho, who United are said to be open to selling in the mid-season window. The Argentina international starred for the Red Devils in their dramatic 2-1 victory over Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday evening and after the game, supporters believe the winger was saying his goodbyes in Manchester.
"Thank you Old Trafford," read Garnacho's Instagram post after the match. The winger, who is also of interest to Napoli, could be seen applauding the supporters after full-time and he appeared to be waving, fuelling speculation he could be on his way to Chelsea.
Garnacho's agents were spotted at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening as they watched on as the Blues beat Wolves in the Premier League. While it is unclear at this point whether they were invited by the club specifically, there is clearly an interest from the player's side as well.
Maresca did the right thing by defending his players. It would not be good for their confidence and belief otherwise. Whatever Maresca says, there is certainly legs in this one.
