Stoke City must prove 'alarmed' pundit wrong to start recovery at Sheffield Wednesday
Stoke City must prove Don Goodman wrong as they head to Sheffield Wednesday trying to end a seven-game winless run.
Stoke, having lost one in 10 heading into late November, have now only picked up four points out of the last 21 available and have a tricky run of fixtures heading into the new year.
It's a trip to Hillsborough on Saturday (12.30pm) followed by three games against promotion chasers: Leeds United and Sunderland at home and then an away day at Burnley to start 2025.

Wednesday, who are panicked about potentially losing boss Danny Rohl to Southampton, have won three and drawn one of their last five to sit ninth, five points off the top six.
Sky Sports' EFL pundit Goodman, who is predicting games for CoinPoker, isn't entirely convinced by their run of form but that is overwhelmed by his concerns about the visitors.
He said: "Wednesday have stuttered a little bit recently, losing their last home match 1-0 to Blackburn. I was very surprised to see they've only won one out of their last seven matches at Hillsborough, which was a 2-0 triumph over Norwich. It's hard to be too confident they'll beat Stoke City.
"However, the Potters are on a run of seven without a win and are conceding, both goals and chances, at an alarming rate. For that reason, I'll have to go with a home win."
