Stoke City player issues surgery announcement and makes road to recovery vow
Jordan Thompson has undergone surgery on the troublesome groin injury that has kept him sidelined since October.
Stoke’s longest-serving first teamer was a regular under Steven Schumacher and then Narcis Pelach before being laid low against Bristol City at home, a 2-2 draw. He has since missed 15 games for the Potters.
The midfielder announced news of the operation himself on Instagram, posting: "Operation done. It’s been a tough period for me trying to deal with this injury, but in the end it needed to be sorted. Road to recovery starts now.”

The 28-year-old joined the Potters from Blackpool in January 2020, and had made 15 appearances this season before injury struck.
The last mention of Thompson by the Stoke management came from then caretaker boss Ryan Shawcross ahead of the game against Burnley on New Year’s Day.
Asked about the absent midfielder, he said: “We'll just keep assessing and seeing where he's at. It's more of a long-term one with Jordan and it's more for the medical department."
