Stoke City sent clear message as Narcis Pelach loses backing and numbers game
The knives are out for Stoke City boss Narcis Pelach and Potters’ Premier League hero Jon Walters after a 2-0 defeat to 10-man Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
Owls defender Di’Shon Bernard was dismissed in the first half but the hosts rallied in the second to secure an impressive three points with goals from Josh Windass and Callum Paterson.
With the Potters on a poor run and facing forthcoming games against Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley, the mood amongst Stoke fans after the game was poisonous - and many are calling for the head of head coach Pelach and Walters, the club’s sporting director who was responsible for hiring the Spaniard just three months ago.

Here is what they have been saying on social media…
Dave Stubbs: Really is getting worse by the week. Other than Pompey home and first 15/20 v Bristol we’ve been outplayed non stop under Pelach. We’re weak, easy to play against and offer nothing going forward. No plan/ no identity. Over to Coates to make another mistake
Jordyofsuburbia: Impressive that he’s been our worst boss since relegation. Made us worse going forward AND defensively. Made Junho, Million, Moran, Burger and Koumas worse. Won’t be sad to see him and Walters gone. Should’ve gone last week.
Ross Hancock: We just find new ways every season to be an absolute embarrassment don’t we? So frustrating.

Get him out, along with Walters.
Rise and shine: Shocking decisions aside, Pelach has to go and Walters has to resign. We will finish bottom this season.
Chris Griffiths: Just when you think we can't stoop to new lows, up step Shambles FC. When will it sink in that Coates has zero idea about how to run a football club, steering us from one disaster to another?
John Shenton: The best Christmas present this year would be if Stoke sacked the two clowns who are in charge.
Tom Lea: Joke, an absolutely huge joke.
Norway: Just a reminder that we had most possession and 15 shots… and still lost.
Tom: Another weekend ruined, lads. Cheers! Only Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley up next.
Ray Hunt: Some big decisions need to be made by the club. Losing to 10 men with some diabolical defending is just not good enough. The referee needs to watch this game back, too - some very strange decisions, and a lot going against Stoke.
