Stoke City teen 'with natural gift' nominated for League Two award
Nathan Lowe has been nominated for League Two player of the month as his prodigious season continues. The Stoke City striker, who was named EFL young player of the month in October, had a stunning December on loan at Walsall, scoring five times and setting up another one.
His form has helped Walsall move 10 points clear at the top of the table while still holding a game in hand on second-placed Crewe Alexandra and two in hand on fourth-placed Port Vale.
The 19-year-old has scored 17 goals across all competitions, including 14 in the league, and is on a four-man shortlist for the December award alongside Salford City defender Luke Garbutt, Colchester United full-back Ellis Iandalo and Bromley centre-back Omar Sowunmi.

An EFL citation said: "Gaining experience all the time, Lowe keeps on improving, sniffing out the right place to be, scoring five and assisting one of Walsall’s 11 goals. Three of his goals opened the scoring, too. The calmness with which he finishes is just a natural gift."
Walsall won six out of six games in December and their manager Mat Sadler has also been nominated for manager of the month.
Sadler also has Stoke youth keeper Tommy Simkin in goal, who only let in two goals in those six matches.
Stoke have recall options in January and new manager Mark Robins will be weighing up what is best for player and club in the short and long-term.
