The Thirsk Rugby Club's storage container has been given a facelift.

The facility was given a new look thanks to a collaboration between the club, Thirsk School, and Thirsk Decorating Centre.

The idea came from some of the club's junior players, who are also Thirsk School students.

They enlisted help from their art teacher Jenny Fenwick and younger art students to design a rugby-themed look for the container.

The design incorporated club colours, and stencils were made to help transfer the design onto the container.

Ms Fenwick said: "It is always a pleasure to see how creative our students are, and we are really pleased with the enthusiastic way the students approached this project."

Club chairman Geoff Iles said: "We were delighted to be involved with this project, it just goes to show that when given the right kind of encouragement our youngsters can have a positive effect on our community.

"We are trying to create a strong family atmosphere at our club and it’s very rewarding to see various elements of the town coming together for a common cause, many thanks to Thirsk School and Thirsk Decorating Centre for their support."
