SUNDERLAND goalkeeper Nathan Bishop has swapped League One clubs for the second half of the season.

Bishop was recalled from his spell with Wycome Wanderers earlier today and has now linked up with Cambridge for the rest of the campaign.

The 25-year-old started the first three games of the season for Wycombe but then suffered an injury that forced him back to Sunderland for treatment. He made his comeback last month but his only action since then has come in cup competitions.

He's now joined up with Cambridge in hope he'll play regularly.

Sporting director Kristjaan Speakman said: “Nathan made a positive start to the season and it was unfortunate that an early setback has reduced his playing time in recent months. After working hard to return to action, it is important that he now plays regularly throughout the remainder of the campaign and we appreciate Wycombe’s understanding in enabling this move.

"We look forward to supporting Nathan from afar before reviewing his progress this summer.”
