Sunderland continued to pile the pressure on the Championship automatic promotion chasers with a gritty 1-0 win over Portsmouth on Sunday. Wilson Isidor scored the winner in the first-half for the Black Cats to strengthen their grip on fourth place but moved to within three points of leaders Leeds United in the table.

Regis Le Bris' side have enjoyed a fine campaign so far and they are well in the running to gain promotion back to the Premier League. Back-to-back home victories over the past couple of days have helped regain momentum following last Sunday's disappointing 1-0 defeat at Stoke City.

And while focus is primarily on the pitch, there will be some attention on the January transfer window and whether Sunderland could add any bodies to their squad. However, the Black Cats could also lose some players this month, with Jobe Bellingham among those linked with moves away.

With this in mind, we have taken a look at the latest transfer rumours from Sunderland and around the EFL...

Palace eyeing Jobe

Crystal Palace are showing renewed interest in Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, according to talkSPORT. The 19-year-old is a long-term target for Palace, who have had him on their radar in previous transfer windows.

It's reported that the Black Cats value Bellingham at £20million. A move to Palace would fall in line with their strategy that they have used during the past couple of years. Last January, the Eagles signed Adam Wharton from Blackburn and also signed the likes of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise from the Championship.

After arriving on Wearside from Birmingham in the summer of 2023, Bellingham scored seven times in 47 matches in his debut season. The teenager has upped his game this term and has helped Sunderland into the Championship play-off places with four goals and three assists in 22 appearances so far.

Barry move

Aston Villa forward Louie Barry is expected to sign for Derby County, according to reports. The 21-year-old, who had spent the last 18 months at Stockport County, has been linked with moves to a whole host of Championship sides this month but it's looking like the Rams have won the race for his signature.

Barry is the outright top scorer in League One this season, having scored 15 goals and provided two assists in 23 appearances. However, Villa decided to recall the Sutton Coldfield-born attacker last week and have since opted to send him out on loan once again, this time a division higher with Derby.
