Hull City's 3-0 win at Sheffield United on Friday night lifted the Tigers up and out of the Championship's bottom three. They remained there following Saturday's results which saw Luton Town, Derby County and Portsmouth all suffer damaging defeats.

The challenge now for the Tigers is to replicate their impressive resurgence away from home which has seen Ruben Selles' side win the last three, at the MKM Stadium, where they've won just twice all season which is the worst home form of all 24 clubs.

A flurry of January transfer window activity has also boosted hopes that Selles can guide the Tigers away from danger after what has been a hugely disappointing campaign after the promise of the play-offs last term.

That victory at Bramall Lane has had a positive impact on the dreaded supercomputer for those who take notice of such predictions, with the Tigers backed to finish 19th and five points above the drop zone.

Based on the current table, that would need City to claim another 22 points from their remaining 17 games which sees Selles' men play eight of those at home, including four against teams directly below them in the table, starting with Saturday's visit of Stoke City.

The Tigers also face Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle before the final home game of the season against Derby County, while City go to Portsmouth on the final day of the regular season.

Friday's win at Bramall Lane was their seventh in the campaign so far, and the data collated by CasinoHawks shows that City will collect seven more wins, which would be more than enough to see them survive ahead of Pompey, Luton and Plymouth, all of whom will go down.

While many City fans would snap your hand off for a 19th-placed finish given the precarious nature of football, especially in the Championship, Selles would almost certainly be aiming higher.
