Supercomputer reveals Leeds United, Burnley, Sunderland and Sheffield United's promotion fate
A Championship supercomputer has predicted that Leeds United will miss out on automatic promotion this season.
With 21 matches remaining, the Whites currently occupy top spot after accumulating an impressive 52 points. They are the top scorers in the division and have suffered just three defeats in 25 outings. United return to action today when they visit lowly Hull City looking for a third consecutive away win.
But according to Grosvenor Sport, who have crunched the current data and predicted the remaining games of the league season, second-placed Burnley will finish with 105 points and win the title. The Clarets, who re-signed evergreen striker Ashley Barnes from Norwich City yesterday, currently trail United by three points. Scott Parker's team welcome the Whites to Turf Moor in a huge top-of-the-table clash on Monday, January 27.

Fresh from beating Sheffield United on New Year's Day, Sunderland are predicted to secure the second automatic promotion spot. Leeds, beaten in the Championship play-off final by Southampton last time around, are projected to come third for the second year running. West Bromwich Albion, Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers are tipped to make up the rest of the top six.
The table claims current bottom side Plymouth Argyle, who recently parted company with head coach Wayne Rooney, will be relegated back to League One after two seasons in the second tier and are set to be joined by Cardiff City and last season's League One winners Portsmouth, who thrashed Swansea City 4-0 on New Year's Day.
