MARTIN DUBRAVKA is a surprise starter after Eddie Howe made nine changes to his Newcastle United side for this afternoon's FA Cup third-round game against Bromley.

Dubravka appeared to be saying his goodbyes to the Newcastle fans in the wake of Tuesday's Carabao Cup win at Arsenal, with a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab having been all but agreed.

However, Howe stated after the game that he did not want to lose the Slovakian, who is due to become a free agent, and has selected him in goal for today's FA Cup tie.

Dubravka retains his place from the team at the Emirates, with summer signing Odysseas Vlachodimos once again on the bench.

Joelinton is the only other player to retain his place from the side that kicked off the midweek League Cup semi-final win.

Fabian Schar and Lloyd Kelly form a new-look centre-half pairing, with Kieran Trippier and Matt Targett filling the full-back positions.

Sean Longstaff and Lewis Miley join Joelinton in midfield, with Miguel Almiron starting on the right despite strong speculation linking him with a January move to US side Charlotte FC.

William Osula leads the line in attack, with Alexander Isak rested, with Harvey Barnes starting on the left-hand side.
