Swansea City are set to hold discussions with Timothy Fosu-Mensah's representatives to further explore the possibility of a move this month.

The former Manchester United star is a free agent ever since leaving Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, and has spent the last few weeks training with Dutch giants Ajax.

As first revealed by WalesOnline, he has been offered to a number of Championship clubs in the last few weeks, including Swansea, with boss Luke Williams recently admitting the club were assessing the versatile defender.

It's understood the two parties are now set to hold further discussions in the coming days, although matters appear to very much be at an initial stage at the time of writing.

The Swans have already landed one addition to their defensive ranks, confirming a loan move for Burnley's Hannes Delcroix, and it remains to be seen whether they would be interested in further strengthening their defensive options in this window. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.

They remain keen on Wycombe Wanderers star Joe Low, but have so far failed to find a breakthrough, with the League One side understood to be hellbent on keeping the Wales international.

It's understood the most likely outcome is that he will now stay at Adams Park until the end of the season.

Aston Villa's Lamare Bogarde has also been linked with a possible loan move to the Swans, but appears to be a man high in demand this month. According to Football Insider, Villa have already batted away a £7m bid from Sevilla this week.

Meanwhile, the Swans have also been tipped as one of several clubs chasing non-league star Joe Andrews.

According to Football Insider, Norwich City, Coventry City and Peterborough United are also tracking the 18-year-old central midfielder, who's been a sensation for National League South Side Chippenham Town this season.

A Wales under-19 international, Andrews came through the ranks at Southampton, but left without making a single first-team appearance.

This season, he's racked up two assists in 22 appearances.

A central midfielder remains near the top of Swansea's wishlist, with former loanee Luke Cundle still very much on the radar.

The Swans have already made contact with Wolves over a potential move, although they aren't the only ones understood to be in the running.

Bristol City and Millwall are among the latest to have shown an interest, and the Express and Star now claim Wolves have now rejected a bid from the latter.

A winger is also near the top of the shopping list, with Oxford United's Tyler Goodrham recently tipped as a possible target.

However, Us boss Gary Rowett insists the 21-year-old is not for sale this month.

“It doesn’t surprise me that clubs will look at him, but he’s certainly not a player that we would want to lose at any point, but certainly not at this point in the January window," he said.

“To me, it’s just speculation, but I understand the speculation because he’s a very good player.”

Finally, Swansea might well be keeping a close eye on developments around Morgan Whittaker's movements, with the forward seemingly on the brink of a move to Middlesbrough.

The 24-year-old had also been a target for Burnley this month, but it's Boro who appear to have won the race to sign him, having reportedly agreed a fee of around £6m with Plymouth Argyle.

The move could also feature an added £2m in add-ons, with Swansea understood to be poised to claim a significant chunk of the transfer fee after inserting a hefty sell-on clause in the £1m move taking him to Home Park in 2023.
