Swansea City transfer bulletin as Middlesbrough star linked and Jamie Paterson training with rivals
Swansea City are reportedly keen on Middlesbrough attacking midfielder Alex Gilbert, as their search for January recruits continues.
According to Football League World, the 23-year-old is on the radar in SA1, as Luke Williams bids to strengthen his options ahead of the second half of the season.
Gilbert signed for Boro in the summer of 2023, and has since made 23 appearances for the club, scoring two goals and racking up three assists.

The Swans are understood to be keen on adding a creative midfielder to their ranks this winter, as well as a centre-back and a left winger.
Swansea's centre-back search has already seen them push for Joe Low at Wycombe Wanderers, although Williams is set to assess alternative options by flying out to the Netherlands on Sunday.
However, they are clearly hoping to make progress elsewhere too, particularly in the middle of the park.
Williams confirmed that Adam Phillips is a player he's aware of, but the extent of the club's interest at this stage isn't yet clear. Luke Cundle is another option that's certainly been looked at, although they could yet face competition for his signature.
Meanwhile, Coventry City boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that former Swans star Jamie Paterson is training with the club.

The 33-year-old left Swansea in the summer after failing to agree a new deal with the club, before going on to link up with former boss Dean Smith at MLS side Charlotte FC.
However, he has since found himself a free agent once more, and is now bidding for a return, with hometown side Coventry currently taking a closer look.
"I know Jamie from coming up against him when I was at Derby, and he was at Bristol. He's a Coventry lad, as I think a lot of people know, and he's local to us. He hasn't got a club at the minute," Lampard explained.
"It's a good experience, we're helping him to come and get fit and train. Our squad is a little bit stretched at this current moment so I think it helps us too. We are helping each other a little bit in the short-term and that's it. It's just training for the moment."
