Swansea City are among a number of clubs keeping tabs on Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Luke Cundle ahead of the January window.

The Swans are currently assessing a whole host of options this winter, in a bid to bolster the squad and their chances of charging for the Championship's top six after a promising opening half of the season.

Sources have indicated Cundle is one such name on their list, although the Swans are one of several EFL clubs taking an interest in the 22-year-old. Hull City, Oxford United, Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers are all believed to also be monitoring his situation, while reports elsewhere have also suggested that Preston North End might similarly be keen.

There's also interest from abroad in the Englishman, who enjoyed a largely successful loan spell in SA1 back in the 2022/23 campaign, netting three goals in 34 games.

He spent the first half of last season on loan at Plymouth Argyle, before being recalled and sent out again to Stoke City.

Cundle has seven appearances for Wolves under his belt, but has found game time hard to come by this season, making just one appearance in the EFL Trophy.

His current deal runs out in 2026, and it's understood Wolves would be open to either a loan or a permanent deal next month.

Whether Swansea will firm up their initial interest to secure a reunion remains to be seen.

Commenting on Swansea's efforts in upcoming window, Swans boss Luke Williams said: "We're talking to clubs and agents of players.

"So we're quite advanced with the preparation. I don't want to give the wrong impression that it's all signed and we're just waiting for the official window, because we still have to wait for the other parties to be in the correct place where they're ready to commit."
